A Married Couple Becomes Dismayed With Their Hazardous and Abusive Drinking and Wonders If They Display Any Alcoholism Signs

Sarah and Jerry have been married for three years. They wanted to have some excitement and fun before they made up their minds to have a family and so they purposely established an incredibly exciting social life.

The major issue, it needs to be pointed out, is that practically everything they do for excitement has something to do with drinking. As an illustration, all of the dinner engagements, happy hours, sporting events, family get-togethers, and parties with friends they attend are associated with drinking.

Sarah and Jerry Start to Perceive Some Unmistakable Alcohol Related Problems That are Correlated With Their Hazardous Drinking

If they were sporadic drinkers, this wouldn’t be such a big issue. Given the fact that they drink in an excessive manner, however, they are starting to take note of some unmistakable alcohol-related problems in their lives.

For example, just a week ago Jerry received his first DWI and has been ignoring responsibilities at work due to alcohol-related health problems. Not only this, but Jerry’s last two performance reviews at his place of employment have been less than passable and he has started to forget what he does or says the times that he drinks. Finally, Jerry has been having sleep-related problems and his family has begun to show concern about his drinking situation.

In a similar manner, Sarah has been feeling depressed with life and to cope with this, she has been drinking more than any time in the past six months. Moreover, Sarah has been experiencing more than a few headaches and suffering from very bad hangovers after drinking. As a final point, Sarah has been feeling significantly less energetic when she gets up in the morning, she has been getting to work late every Monday, and she has been getting some cruel criticism from her family members, relatives, friends, and coworkers about her heavy drinking.

Watching the Television and Inadvertently Discovering A Remarkable Documentary About the Signs of Alcohol Addiction

One Saturday evening while watching the television, Jerry and Sarah inadvertently discovered an interesting documentary about the signs of alcoholism.

This TV documentary was a real eye opener to Jerry and Sarah because many of the alcoholism signs that were discussed looked like they were undeniably related to many of the alcohol-related drinking problems Jerry and Sarah had been experiencing.

A Straightforward Talk About Drinking Situations Unearths Alcohol Related Employment, Legal, Relationship, Health, and Financial Problems

After watching the TV documentary, Sarah and Jerry determined that they needed to have a straightforward conversation about their drinking circumstances. They both agreed that most, if not all, of their social activities somehow involved drinking, that they were drinking in an excessive manner, and that as a married couple, they were starting to make note of alcohol related relationship, financial, employment, legal, and health problems for the first time in their lives.

With thoughts of the television program still etched in her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcoholism signs they have been displaying could be an indication that they are alcoholic or conceivably becoming alcohol dependent. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s inquiry and so he recommended that they schedule an appointment with one of the healthcare professionals at the nearby alcohol abuse treatment clinic to find out more about the severity of their drinking problems.

Handling Your Drinking Difficulties Might Decrease Your Fear and Give You Some Serenity

Paradoxically, even though their drinking behavior hadn’t yet changed, it was noticeable that Jerry and Sarah were at the very least focusing on their drinking issues, they were enthusiastic about finding out more about their drinking behavior, and they were interested in learning how they could notably lessen or do away with the drinking-related difficulties that had begun to get worse.

When Jerry and Sarah went to bed that night, they made up their minds that the next afternoon, Jerry would call and schedule an appointment for both of them at the alcohol rehabilitation facility located in the next town. After they promised one another that they would do whatever it takes to cope with the drinking difficulties that had materialized in their lives, they actually had the most peaceful night’s sleep they could bring to mind in the last three weeks.

Just before she fell asleep, Sarah turned to Jerry and observed how effortless it is to reduce one’s fear and in point of fact experience some peace of mind by attending to one’s problems with personal integrity and making up one’s mind to do something positive about them.
