Gums bleed for a reason and that reason is usually not good. Healthy gum tissue doesn’t just bleed ‘because’. Just as with the skin on your hands, it should not bleed. Likewise, bleeding gums are abnormal.
Barring some form of traumatic experience, you gums should not bleed. If your gums bleed during flossing or brushing, be aware that is a classic sign of gum disease. And gum disease is not great fun.
Many people are suffering from periodontal disease. And you need to be aware of it. The reason why periodontal disease, which is just another name for gum disease, is a problem that an awful lot of people have. The unfortunate part is that many do not understand that they have gum disease.
Gingivitis can lead to tooth loss in the advanced stages. But do you know that an awful lot of people suffer from bleeding gums and they still don’t understand that they have gum disease. At the same time, you can have periodontal diseaese and your gums may not bleed. So, therefore you can’t rely on the fact that you haven’t experienced any bleeding of the gums.
I would guess that you don’t wish to lose any teeth or if you already have, you proabaly don’t want to lose anymore?
Who would blame you? I also want to keep my teeth and I know you probably do too and that is why I keep talking about it. I believe that people should be more aware of the problem.
The gum tissue is vulnerable, think about how much food you eat. Do you brush and floss regularly? If you do, that is wonderful, but you may not have realized that brushing and flossing may not be enough to prevent gum disease.
There are many people who still develop gum disease even with proper brushing and flossing, scary, isn’t it. It would be to your benefit to stop bleeding gums from developing into greater problems.
